Camillo Baldi also known as Camillus Baldus and Camillo Baldo. In 1572 he graduated in Philosophy and Medicine. He taught at the Studio Publico di Bologna for sixty years. He taught logic for several years before becoming a lecturer in Philosophy from 1590 till his death in 1637. His essay on graphology Trattato Come Da Una Lettera Missiva Si Conoscano La Natura E Qualità Dello Scrittore. Raccolta Dagli Scritti Del Sig Camillo Baldi Citadino. Bolognese, E Dato Alle Stampe Da Gio Francesco Grillenzoni[1] represents the first detailed investigation of the subject, and was first published in 1622 when Baldi was over 70 years old (Italian editions have also been published in 1625[2], 1983[3] and 1992[4]). It has also appeared in, Latin (in 1664)[5], French (in 1900[6] and 1993[7]). There are no published English translations.
